Plastic Recycling
Plastics are sent to a subsidiary of Coolrec, PHB Recycling, where a new transformation process starts. The plastic flakes are cleaned and reprocessed here to create pure raw materials. Each year, 20,000 tonnes of plastic pass through PHB’s plant.
The plastic product passes through a shredder first, which produces a finely shredded material. Density separation, air separation and vibratory techniques are used to separate the plastic from all the other materials on the line. The conveyor at the end of the line delivers clean plastic shreds. Pure raw materials, which are used to make new parts for household appliances or for passenger cars. Because of their high quality, the raw materials delivered by PHB are very popular with producers; a cleaner recycled material is hard to find.
PHB participates in the so called MJA-3, a multinannual agreement between the government and business partners, concerning a more effective and efficient energy consumption.
PHB processes different types of hard plastics such as HDPE, PP, PS and ABS.
